Theatre ticketing, done for you.
Your patrons pick their own seats in the house you play in. A ticketing specialist draws the chart and sets up every production, and the theatre never pays a thing.
What everyone sees
The board sees sales, check-ins, and the money for every production.
Opening night, handled.
Reserved seating in the house you play in, a presale for your patrons, comps for your sponsors, tickets in Apple and Google Wallet, and a box office app for every performance. Free for community theatres.
Before tickets go on sale
- Your house, drawn for you
Send a photo or the venue's diagram. We build the chart, free. If your venue already uses Hometown Tickets, it's drawn.
- The whole season in one place
The spring show, the summer youth production, the holiday play. One account, a chart and prices for each.
- Adult, senior, and student prices
Set a price for each, and change them production by production.
While patrons buy
- A presale for your patrons
Send donors and season regulars the presale link. Only they can buy early, then sales open to everyone on the date you pick.
- Tickets in the phone's wallet
Apple and Google Wallet, so nobody hunts through email at the lobby doors.
- Email everyone who bought
A weather cancellation, a cast change, a talkback after the show. One announcement reaches every patron.
Show night
- Scan at the door
Volunteers scan tickets in with their own phones.
- Sell walk-ups and seat your comps
Card or cash at the box office, and comps for sponsors and cast families, all from the same chart. We can send card readers.
- Get paid
Direct deposit as tickets sell, or a check to the theatre after the run.
We're very lucky to have such a valued resource right here in our own backyard (or backstage, if you will).
Hometown Tickets has been a great asset to Fond du Lac Community Theatre. We've been with the platform pretty much since its inception, and the growth and improvement in the dashboard has been amazing. It's very user friendly, from both an organizer and a customer perspective, and the team is quick to respond whenever help is needed. Your ticketing specialist
Every organization on Hometown Tickets has a named ticketing specialist who sets up your events, draws your seating charts, and answers the phone. It's how we've always done it, and it's included for everyone.
- 01
Your dates, your prices, and a photo or diagram of the room. An email is enough.
- 02
Your specialist draws the seating chart, sets up every performance, and puts your presale on a schedule. You look it over and say go.
- 03
The box office app, the scanner, and payouts come with it. When you call, the same person picks up.
Questions community theatres ask about ticketing.
How much does community theatre ticketing cost?
Nothing. Theatres pay no setup, monthly, or per-production fees, and every feature is included. Ticket buyers pay a small service fee at checkout, which you can show as a line item or fold into the ticket price.
We rent a school auditorium or a performing arts center. Can you chart it?
Yes. Send a photo, the venue's seating diagram, or a rough sketch and your ticketing specialist draws a reserved-seating chart of the real room at no charge. If the venue already uses Hometown Tickets for its own shows, its chart is ready to use.
Can every production of the season live under one account?
Yes. Each production has its own dates, seats, and prices under the theatre's account, and each board member or volunteer who needs it can have their own login.
Can we charge different prices for adults, seniors, and students?
Yes. Set a price for each kind of ticket, and change them from production to production.
Can our donors and season regulars buy before the public?
Yes. Every production comes with a presale link you can send to your patrons. Only the people who get the link can buy early, and sales open to everyone on the date and time you choose.
How do we handle comps for sponsors, cast families, and the press?
Seat them from the box office app like any other ticket, at no charge, from the same seating chart. They get a real ticket to scan at the door.
How do patrons get their tickets?
By email right after they buy, with a pass for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so nobody is hunting through their inbox at the lobby doors.
Can we sell tickets at the door on show night?
Yes. The box office app sells walk-ups from the same seating chart, by card or cash. We can send card readers, and your volunteers scan tickets in with their own phones.
Can the treasurer see what sold?
Yes. Every order is in the dashboard, with sales reports and exports you can open in a spreadsheet, and scheduled email reports if the board wants them weekly.
How does the theatre get paid?
Direct deposit as ticket money comes in, or a check after the run made out to the theatre. You pick.
